Hello Parents,
I hope all is well. Just a reminder, please send the novel Tiger Rising to school by Tuesday. This was the novel that was listed on the school supply list that was sent home with students in June. We are beginning our second reading unit and will be using this novel to help learn different concepts. If you have not ordered the book, it is available on Amazon or you can obtain it locally from Bookies. I have found that books are a little cheaper from Bookies. https://www.bookiesbookstores.com/ I will be sending home Xtramath log in information for each student. Each night students are expected to practice their math facts using Xtramath. This will help to improve their fact fluency. The upcoming math units will focus on multiplication and division. We will eventually start fractions, so fact fluency is essential to help students successfully navigate through fractions. I would like to clarify any confusion that might have arisen with Google Classroom. Google Classroom is a platform that I will be using throughout the year to post classroom assignments and homework. So, assignments that appear in the classroom feed are not always meant for homework. I encourage you to ask your students about the assignments that were completed in class so you can have an idea or understanding of the wonderful learning that is happening in our classroom. Also, at the end of each week, you will receive an email summary of any assignments or announcements that were posted in Google Classroom. If it is a classwork assignment, then it was completed in the classroom and you will not need to complete it at home. If the assignment is completed at home, it will not receive credit. So, please utilize the agenda to verify which assignments are assigned for homework. Have a wonderful weekend!
